thenightjaywalker asked: Do you have any tips for making a good neocities website for someone who doesn't have a ton of coding experience?
First step is to do the beginning tutorials at neocities: https://neocities.org/tutorials
I think to play with colours and different backgrounds is fun, but make sure text can be readable and isn’t too small or big (well, just try to keep in mind, sometimes it’s hard for me). Since neocities isn’t like most social media sites that have very limited design choices if at all, you can really explore how you want your pages to look and its all up to you. https://www.computerhope.com/htmcolor.htm
when thinking of how to do something, look it up on search engines on examples of how to code it. There are effects like when your mouse hovers over an image and it changes, or having animated effects on a screen. A lot of it will be experimentation and playing around really.
